She said, “I am getting attached to him,” I said “dude, you’re screwed!!”
I am profoundly sentimental. Of people, books, places, belongings. (I still have the first book I ever read!!).
If something had mattered to me, It won’t be easy for me to let go. .
I read the following on a photo blog called ‘humans of NY’ & these lines were somehow stuck in my head because that’s exactly how Iam.
It’s like all that anxiety, Sadness & anger have become friends & plotting a Revenge against you. .
People call me naive. But that’s how Iam. And the truth is, sometimes. .I like being naive. I like connecting with people. I like to explore. I like being in love. I like my ability to survive a heart break. I like being vulnerable. I like that about me.
In fact, It takes courage to be vulnerable these days. To open up yourself. Not just the ‘beautiful’ you but also the darkest corners of your heart. .
No matter how sorted you are, there are things which you will always conceal, not just from others but sometimes from yourself too. Have you ever heard anyone saying “Wow! I am gullible & I love it.”
In the book Daring Greatly, author says says that “vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper or meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.” It is also indicated that “Vulnerability is the core of all emotions and feelings.”
I couldn’t agree more. .You can’t experience life, without feeling life. .the only thing that’s wrong in this world is the myth that it’s beyond repair. . So, go out there. . Feel. . Love. .Hope. .Fall hopelessly in love. Don’t give up on the people you are in love with. Love is real. Hope is real. People need other people. That’s simple maths. Attachment isn’t bad. Live. Survive.
Beautifully put.

I like the part about vulnerability being the emotion that opens doors to others. Only when we can lower our barrier and our protection mechanisms do we experience life and very fully. Great post and lovely quote from HONY – Love does draw us in and makes us very perceptive (or protective).

I am a sucker for love and often are the times when my sister and bestfriends scold me for loving easily, getting attached which leaves me vulnerable at the same time.So even if they do not want to,they have come to understand that am just like that and I really do not mind.Well I cry sometimes over such ‘stupid’ decisions but at the end of the day,I am glad I loved,I trusted.I got attached,I was vulnerable because its a beautiful feeling.
However when it does not last,I pick up my pieces, wipe away the tears and smile because life goes on.
My ‘attachie’ nature does not only apply to people but also to my clothes, shoes and books just to name afew.
With that said here is a wonderful reblog on attachement from someone whom we share the same sentiments.

A woman after my own heart. Vulnerability is a strong. It’s only for hearts which are truly open for Love. Falling and believing you will be caught isn’t bad. Not jumping is gullible, because a person, living life protected; will never be freedom. That’s not living….

And somehow, I feel over the moon that you just gave me the permission to be an unrepentant hopeless romantic! Heheh. Lovely post! And truth, vulnerability is beautiful. Personally, I think vulnerability is not something you contest, or something you decide to be or not be- just about the way you pick you pick your lingerie and outfit per day. It is that secret leeway in you that opens up without your permission, giving whom it wills the access to love you for something a little beyond the ordinary.
I enjoyed reading this! And thanks for inviting me over! 🙂

This truly is beautiful! A lot of this resonated with me. I tend to be quite naive no matter what i experience. My first love cheated on me (i have some writing about this in my blog). I struggled for a while with opening up and being vulnerable, where before that it was so easy because I had never experienced any consequences for being in touch with my emotions and loving someone without any inhibitions. Although i’m still struggling with it, I find myself nonetheless remaining naive and still believing in love, and you’re right, sometimes life is better when you are naive because you are open to some new experiences without closing yourself off. I really enjoyed this, very relatable, girl! 🙂

Anyone that disagrees is either the luckiest person in the world or has never stepped outside. Feeling hurt is a part of life. Well here’s my review: I think your writing is awesome! You write about feelings and emotions that everyone can relate too…hence the insane amount of comments on this post lol it’s really good stuff! Anytime you can touch upon a truth you’ll get positive results. Well done.
As are as vulnerability goes I think it’s what makes people attractive. When you’re vulnerable you’re showing who you truely are and that’s a GREAT thing. People are often attracted to people’s uniqness and uniqueness can only be displayed when you’re vulnerable and willing to put yourself out there.
You have a fantastic blog, I appreciate your observations – looking forward to your next post.

Thank you for the wonderful writing! Yes, we all have both bright and dark side, and when we can love both, we love ourselves truly. We are often scared of being hurt, so that we try to hide our vulnerability or worse, try to attack people to protect from getting hurt. But, this cannot help anything to grow or feel love/being loved. And, I believe people, who know own vulnerability, are real strong people. 🙂

it has worked; I’ve been a mental health professional for about 16 years so I cheated. but I’ve changed careers and i’m a mortician now! -so it was easier to “get away” with being very public about some of my flaws, and I was able to celebrate who I was and doing on a forum like this, while including the art form made me feel…well, it held me accountable to the process and was nurturing, if that makes sense.

You have got an interesting first name, Reva. It is the first time I consciously heard it. I read that it is related to the word revive or to regain strength. I also looked up you surname Parihar. It says it is the Sanskrit equivalent of Pratihar meaning keeper or protector. Looking at this bog it is obvious that you are someone who’s intention is to protect and to revive humanity. What and how you write is beautiful. I am sure you are someone planting seeds of love in this world, making life a wonderful “state of being and experiencing“ to many others that meet you along your path of life. Good to know you are out there, a young woman endowed with – the love and respect of life.

Vulnerability is human and beautiful.
On the other hand, people are going to feel bad about themselves no matter what you say or what to do. They might even be mad with you for no reason. And, there is nothing we can do about it but accepting it.

I become far too attached far too easily. It doesn’t happen frequently, but when I come across someone vibrating at the same frequency as me, that’s it. I’m done for. And then I have to cross my fingers that they’ll feel some form of attachment, too, and not just walk away.

I love the positive focus on this article,it is so on spot. Indeed, each one of us should let our emotions flow freely, only then can we find the best of ourselves. Hope, Love, these are what makes us humans and we should be able to widen the boundary that limits us to the same.
