All you need is L̶o̶v̶e̶ Food. I live for food and this cafebar lives up to the expectations. After all, the menu is curated by Chef Ashwin kotian, who has been a head chef in St.Regis Mumbai & has served to the likes of Bill Clinton & many Bollywood celebrities.
At first, it’s location can be hard to find. So I’ll make that easy for you. It’s situated in orbit mall. Take the main entrance, walk straight to the elevator, go to the first floor and the cafe is on the left.
The first thing you’ll notice is the space. This place is huge. It’s divided in two parts – casual dining area and the lounge which are well separated. Cafebar also has a separate smoking room, and the lounge has big dance floor, probably the biggest in Indore! Comfortable sitting arrangement & vivid wall paintings just add to its charm.
We were served –
FLAME KALMI KEBAB and LASOONI JHINGA –
Tandoori prawns & chicken to which they add vodka in front of you to create a burst of flames (this technique is called flambe). It’s awe-inspiring. The best part about these dishes are it’s dip. There are six varieties that were served to us that perfectly complimented the dishes – Green chutney, Dahi dip, green apple dip, pineapple & papaya murabba and chimichurri sauce. Sweet or salty, you’ll find everything here.
Note – they are served as two separate dishes in the menu.
JAITUNI MUSHROOMS & KACCHI KAIRI KA PANEER –
Oh my God I’m gonna visit this place just to have them again. Stuffed with cheese, olives and parsley, Jaituni mushrooms are a perfect starter. I’m not big on cottage cheese but they are definitely worth a try.
LAMB GALOUTI KEBABS –
Galouti’ or ‘Galawati’ means melt in the mouth & these kebabs does just the same. There’s an interesting story behind the invention of this dish. This dish was especially made for the ageing Wajid Ali Shah nawab of Kakori, Lucknow. The Nawab had lost all his teeth but not his love for meat. So, galouti was made to satisfy his palate.
If you are a non vegetarian & you haven’t eaten this dish, you’re definitely missing something. Kebabs are softer than butter & are served with pita bread, they are more on the spicy side.
KUCH MEETHA HO JAYE?
Chef special desserts that contains LEMONGRASS SORBET, ADA PRADHAMAN & CHOCOLATE PUDDING with rum soaked nuts. A perfect end to an amazing feast. Ada pradhaman is a traditional dish especially made during onam & has weetened rice cake with Jaggery coconut milk. Chocolate pudding had strong rum flavor that along with ice cream just added to its charm.
