How do you write about someone who makes your life whole? The one who is your silver lining? The one who can make you smile just by being there? Yeah, you got it right! Iam talking about my two lifelines, my dogs ❤

Iam a proud cyanophile (dog lover).

I still remember the time when I Dint had a dog but a friend of mine had, and she always used to refer to her dog as her child. .To be honest, that time. .I thought that was gross (so, if you think the same, how I call my lovelies as my brothers, I won’t blame you). .
Little did I realize, things were about to change!

Flashback – Seven years back :–

3 December 2008. .This little fella came into my life (yeah yeah, you can call me a crazy dog lady) & my definition of love changed forever. .

Angels are often disguised as dogs! He is my angel!! I remember him waiting for me at the gate when I used to come back from the school and nothing could make me happier than coming home to his happy face. .

Having said that, he was different! He Dint behave like a dog! He never played with another dog.. I still remember how he barked when he saw himself in the mirror for the first time!! Not believing that he did not look like humans!! Haha!! That’s my ‘chotu’ (it means small, given his size).

He makes me feel like I’ll never be alone. . That Iam loved & Iam worth it. .It’s hard to have a bad day, when you come home to dog’s love. .

Here’s the other little fella that came in my life on 31st December 2013!

That’s my alfie! Oh boi, he’s wild! He is disobedient, careless, reckless, and yet adorable. And yeah, not to forget. .I can’t eat anything without sharing it with him, of course because of the magic of *puppy eyes*. .
And yeah, *Iam sorry I ate your shoe, but I love you* look in his eyes is pure love & makes it so hard for me Not to love him even when Iam mad at him. .

Iam out for 5 minutes, he makes me feel coming home like Iam coming after winning a war. .jumping up to greet me. .his front feet comes off the ground in a high step performance like a dancing horse & wagging his tail like 120 miles per hour. .

He is so exuberant! Constantly messing up the house, barking, running, fetching, catching love. . Oh so much love that he makes me feel alive. .

Even if Iam mad at my dogs for doing something wrong, I can’t stay mad at them for more than a minute or two once I see their sad puppy eyes. .

To be honest, I can’t imagine a life without my dogs. .They have made me a better person. I don’t own them, I have them & they have me. .taking care of them has made me more responsible, nurturing, dedicated, and compassionate than I ever was. .

There are so many things you can learn from a dog. .My Pug teaches me the meaning of self respect. .Put the food infront of him, he won’t eat. .till you feed him with your hands!! Too much. .I know right?

Without saying a word, both of them have taught me so many things –

1. It’s too easy to be happy.
2. Greeting people with a smile.
3. Expressing yourself openly without giving a second thought.
4. Make others happy.
5. Simply enjoy yourself.
6. Loyalty.
7. Unconditional love (yes, it does exist).
8. Don’t take yourself too seriously.
9. Don’t hold grudges.
10. Don’t be grumpy for too long!
11. Explore the wonderful things around you.
12. Spread positivity.
13. Do not hesitate from doing the things you love.
14. Worry less!

And yada yada. .

Not to forget what a great instinct they have. .it’s like they can feel you. .whenever Iam sad or worried, chotu will just come up to me, sit in my lap, lick me (yeah, I let him lick me on my face and no, that’s not gross), try to comfort me in any possible way & Lemme tell you one thing, it works. .Sometimes, all you need is a paw to lean on. .He is my support system. .

Let me add, they are such attention seekers. . Haha! It’s true! They need to be in the spotlight. .and they will do anything to get it!!

Not all things are good though, they make me so mad. .unbearable Barking. .wanting to play when i want to sleep (he’ll walk around with a toy or ball, trying hard to convince me to join in on the fun, when all I want is a good night sleep!!!). . Dragging me around when I take him out for a walk (actually, he takes me for a walk & I hate it so much when I can’t control him, but what the heck?). .doesn’t let me eat (I mean come on, I don’t stare at you when you eat your eggs, don’t stare me when Iam eating my food :/). . And not to forget, dog hair everywhere!! (even your clothes!). .messing up the house, opening pillows, shredding rugs, peeing here and there when you don’t take them out. .

But honestly, I don’t mind any of it. .because they are my family. . My BFFs . .and when you truly love someone, you don’t care about the problems they cause you. .That’s why, a little fur on your clothes isn’t a big deal. .

He wakes up with me, he sleeps with me. . He doesn’t eat without me. . And although that’s bad because there are times when Iam not around but he still waits for me. . And that makes me feel so special. .there is no happy feeling. .He is now seven, and his eye sight is weak now. .He isn’t that playful like he used to be. .but he’s still that caring, loving and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world. .

*yeah that’s how he sleeps*

My biggest fear is living without him. . I can’t bear the thought. .Just thinking about it makes me cry. .it’s incredible how he makes me feel. . He is my happy place. .life line you can say. .

Unconditional love, companionship, non – judgemental, fun, and what not? My dogs are the centre of my world. . I can’t imagine a life without them.
